This is one of the possible [[assignments for memoir]] or [[assignments for poetry]] you can choose.
(T1: Communication)
> (Re)read [Georgia Lyon’s autobiographical poem “Where I’m From”](http://www.georgeellalyon.com/where.html).
> Then create a “Where I’m From” poem of your own. Experiment with poetic mystery. Use [[figurative language]] to hint at elements of your personal family history, biography, and individuality. Make the poem at least 15 lines long. The organizational structure can be similar to Lyon’s, or you can head in a new direction. Experiment with poetic language such as simile, metaphor, imagery, rhyme, rhythm, assonance/consonance/alliteration, etc. Let your poem evoke imagery and mystery!
