Learning Targets are statements of intended learning based on the [National Common Core Standards](https://www.thecorestandards.org/ELA-Literacy/). Students should review the learning targets and refer to them throughout the school year. By the end of the semester, students should achieve mastery of each target below.
NOTE: Each target will link to a general rubric—I may need to update those rubrics, and these learning target descriptions for that matter, if and when the district updates them, but for a general guide, these should suffice:

> **T2 = [Reading Target](https://docs.google.com/document/d/1MT9YzY3mqa9CKfXF9rYw57TO6t31xndVwQJpL1jKzNU/edit?usp=share_link):** Students can comprehend and evaluate both fiction and nonfiction texts.
> **T3 = [Language Target](https://docs.google.com/document/d/1n1-lMTPvZkffuL0XC7WUcYa00gicGqnyx3rF1_LXP5U/edit?usp=share_link):** Students can use a wide variety of words effectively, including general vocabulary and specific literary terms, and adhere to the standard rules of English grammar when communicating.
