This is one of the possible [[assignments for poetry]] you can choose.
(T1: Communication)
Share! Discuss! Enjoy!
Once you’ve experimented with writing some poems, choose one or more that you like and think would sound good out loud, and post a video of yourself reading it (or them) at [this Padlet](https://sdw.padlet.org/oddletters/poetry-caf-pnffdbj4emgl6lhu).
Students should be able to log into Padlet via [Classlink](https://login.classlink.com/my/sdw).
There’s a section there for reading something *you* wrote, one for reading something someone else wrote (something personally inspiring or meaningful to you that you wish to interpret), and one for making a response video to someone else’s video. 😎
Here’s [my goofy example](https://drive.google.com/file/d/1hoXpr86X6gwEB4cJ6b03OWOP-n7zGwBD/view?usp=drive_link), in case it gets destroyed in the Padlet for some reason.
Wow! **Check out** [**Button Poetry**](https://buttonpoetry.com/category/videos/) for some inspiration for reading a poem aloud!
The goal of this "T1: Communication" assessement is to practice reading, writing, speaking, and listening skills while exploring the possibilities of [[poetry]], so after you’ve made your post, return often to listen to other people’s posts and contribute to the discussion.
If you choose this assignment to submit for one of the weeks in our class in Blackboard, be sure to include the following:
- link to your post in Padlet, if possible (or at least let us know it’s there)
- self-evaluation of how you think you did in terms of reading aloud
- text or link to text of the poem(s) you read
- anything interesting you learned from the discussion in the topic
